Glen Elm Park vs. Glencairn — what's the difference?

These neighbourhoods are neighbours but distinct. Glen Elm Park is older (1950s), located further west (closer to Park St), and features smaller bungalows. Glencairn is larger, newer (1970s), located further east, and features a wider variety of home styles like bi-levels and splits. Generally, Glen Elm Park is slightly more affordable.

What schools serve Glen Elm Park?

The neighbourhood is anchored by Glen Elm Community School (Regina Public), which is located centrally on 10th Avenue. This makes the area very popular for families who want their children to be able to walk to school without crossing major traffic arteries like Victoria Avenue or Dewdney.

Is Glen Elm Park a good location for commuters?

It is an excellent, often overlooked location for downtown workers. Because Glen Elm Park sits just south of Dewdney Avenue, residents have a straight, 5-minute drive into the Central Business District. You avoid the heavier congestion found on Victoria Avenue or Arcola Avenue during rush hour.

How close is shopping to Glen Elm Park?

Residents get the best of both worlds: a quiet residential pocket that is just minutes from the major commercial district. You are a very short drive (or bus ride) from the Victoria Square Mall, the Glencairn Shopping Centre, and the big-box stores (Costco, Superstore) on Victoria Avenue East.
