These two neighbourhoods are essentially two halves of the same community. Arnhem Place is the western section (closer to Broad St), while Douglas Place is the eastern/central section (closer to the track and Park St). Both share the same access to Wascana Centre and similar housing styles.
These names are often used interchangeably, but there is a slight distinction. Douglas Park technically refers to the large green space and athletic complex along the lake. Douglas Place is the residential neighbourhood tucked quietly just north and east of that park. It is a hidden pocket of 1960s bungalows and townhomes that offers the same park access as the more expensive “Boot Hill” area but often at a more accessible price point.
It is one of the most convenient locations for young families. Most children in Douglas Place can walk to the recently rebuilt Douglas Park School (Regina Public), which serves as a major community hub. For Catholic education, St. Augustine School is located just a few blocks away.
